Password Management

“This password doesn’t match any of our records”. I used to get this message daily and it was driving me crazy. I just couldn’t stay organized with all these passwords (my own plus all my client’s). Staci Jansma saved my day by recommending that I have a look at Roboform.

“RoboForm is the top-rated password manager and web form filler that completely automates password entering and form filling. RoboForm password manager saves online passwords, fills login forms with saved data, automatically logs you into a web site, allows you to view and edit passwords. RoboForm form filler fills long registration and checkout forms. RoboForm also provides Password Generator, and it encrypts password-protected info using AES thus making password management absolutely secure. RoboForm is absolutely free for personal use, it contains no spyware and no adware.”

I installed it just over a week ago and I’m already in love with it. Below are some screen shots to show you how it works:

  1. Robform Toolbar:When you install Roboform a little toolbar will appear at the bottom of your screen. This is where all your passwords will be stored.Password Management
  2. Logins Management: If you click on “Logins” a list with all your created logins will appear. I have all my clients listed there and under each client it has the different sites for which I need passwords (FB, Twitter, Linkedin, Google, etc. etc.) By clicking on one of the folders, Roboform automatically opens the website and signs you in.

Another thing I like about it is that I can also access all my data from everywhere. You create an online account which can than be accessed anytime, from any computer. How cool is that ?

Being Swiss it’s in my nature to be concerned about security issues Smile . Here is what their website says: “Protected RoboForm Data is secured with military-grade AES 256 encryption, with additional security options available.”

Given the big names on their testimonial page I felt like I could trust them ! Have a look yourself: http://www.roboform.com/awards-and-reviews

Are you also living a password nightmare ? Check out their website where you can download a free trial. Or buy your own version right away. It’s on sale for a limited time only for USD 9.95 for the first year and USD 19.95 annually after that: www.roboform.com/sarah

(in case you are wondering, yes, it is an affiliate link and I get 30% of every Pro purchase, but that’s not why I wrote this post ! I just think it’s a great tool and hope others can benefit from it too!)

Hi Sarah,

I couldn’t live without a Password Management tool too!
Like Cath, I have been a very happy Lastpass user for more than two years. To keep things tidy (I’m getting a bit Swiss 🙂 ), I created folders for business websites, personnal ones, my husband’s etc.
Now it’s such a breathe a fresh air to login! Thanks for this time saving and stress avoiding tip.
