How The World Sees YouSometime in July I took a survey called Fascination Advantage Test developed by Sally Hogshead, author of a new book called ‘How The World Sees You’.

Other Tests Tell You How You See The World

Many of us have probably taken one or the other test where you discover how you see the world. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is one of them. In summary it tells us:

  • Whether your focus is on the outer or inner world [Extroversion (E) or Introversion (I)]
  • Whether you prefer basic information or add meaning [Sensing (S) or Intuition (N)]
  • Whether you are Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
  • Whether you are Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)

After answering the different questions you will be presented with your own personality type, which will be expressed as a code with four letters. This type of test is often used by HR coaches.

Find Out How The World Sees You

The refreshing novelty about Sally Hoghead’s approach, is that it looks at you from a different angle. It will analyze how the world sees you, how you can best use your strengths and how to formulate these strengths into powerful marketing messages (Sally refers to it as your ‘anthem’) to tell the world who you are.

Personality Archetypes - Sally Hogshead

I’m a Maverick Leader. What are you?

According to the test (and friends & clients confirm this) I am a Maverick Leader and my Primary Advantage is Power and my Secondary Advantage is Innovation. The adjectives that best describe me are: Pioneering, Irreverent and Entrepreneurial

Further more the very detailed report says this about my archetype:

  • You’re independent, confident, and perhaps a little eccentric.
  • The Power Advantage tends to keep you on track to reach your goals, while your primary Innovation Advantage makes you creative, innovative, and sharp-witted.
  • You’re able to think in both linear and nonlinear ways. Free association allows you to come up with fresh ideas, while your logical mind helps you implement them.
  • You are a natural leader with an adventurous spirit.

  • Maverick Leader dislike routine tasks. You get bored when forced to follow predictable patterns.
  • You get the most out of building your own path, finding smart solutions to the usual rules, and finding your own way to do things.

The report goes on and on, also describing my dormant advantage or how I’m least likely to impress others.
